Did you know that sitting for extended periods of time can negatively affect your posture? We all sit when we are texting, driving, watching TV or working at the computer.
When you are sitting you are less likely to have a major injury unless the chair breaks, which probably won’t happen….
But sitting for extended periods of time will cause muscle imbalances, poor posture, which all leads to injuries.
When we sit our hip flexors get tight and constricted and they need to be stretched to avoid stiff and achy muscles. Many of you may be wondering where the hip flexors are in the body so to clear any confusion, they are located just above the quads on the front of the thigh muscles.
Many of my clients suffer from tight hip flexors and this stretch enabled them to move more freely and eliminate aches and pains in their back, hips, and knees.
Before you perform this exercise make sure you have a cushion such as a towel or a pillow underneath your knee, which will provide more support.
This hip flexor stretch is excellent and is a perfect stretch to do after you exercise or on days you don’t exercise.
By adding this stretch into your routine you will be moving and feeling great. Now it’s time to go out and make it happen.
Go have some fun with this exercise!
