I was searching everywhere for the final speeches from yesterday’s Auckland final between Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams.  Thanks to MrPieritoTennis on YouTube, who has included them in his highlights.  When you get a underwhelming final, the trophy ceremony is sometimes the best part.  The Caro-Venus final was actually pretty good, but the final speeches were just great from both players.  Venus’s speech was delightful and I can’t remember a better one (perhaps Li Na at AO 2014?) for quite some time.  She came across so chilled, so relaxed and with a great sense of humour, and genuine respect for her opponent.  This trophy ceremony made me smile so I thought i’d share it in case anyone didn’t see it.  The video below starts from the trophy ceremony…
