In her first match since Wimbledon, the Cincy defending champ, Garbiñe Muguruza lost the last five games in a three set loss to Lesia Tsurenko.

Lesia Tsurenko beat Muguruza for her first top ten win in nearly three years.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova hitting a backhand during her second round match against Angelique Kerber.

Angelique Kerber up close in Cincy where she beat Pavlyuchenkova in three hard fought sets. This was Kerber’s first win since winning Wimbledon.

Kerber will play Madison Keys in R3. Love going through pictures of Angie!

Caroline Wozniacki was sporting strapping on her shoulder but would later retire with a knee injury after losing the first set to Kiki Bertens.

Ajla Tomljanovic won the first set of her rain-delayed match against Simona Halep. The pair will resume on Thursday with Halep leading 4-3 in the third set.
