It’s been a while since i’ve had the opportunity to post some smiling Lucie pics so here’s a quick post to do just that.  Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands were playing just their THIRD tournament together but won their second title in Stuttgart to go along with their Australian Open triumph.  The pair beat Katarina Srebotnik and Caroline Garcia in the final, 6-4 6-3.  I’m not going to lie and say I watch much doubles but I know that Srebotnik and Garcia are a very decent pair.  It was a good match from Lucie and Beth and they work so well together with Lucie dominating from the baseline and Beth sweeping up at the net.  It was nice to hear plenty of support from the crowd who were cheering their names at the end!

R2: Mattek-Sands and Safarova d. Husarova and Kania, 6-1 6-3

SF: Mattek-Sands and Safarova d. Martic and Vogt, 4-6 6-3 10-0

F: Mattek-Sands and Safarova d. Garcia and Srebotnik, 6-4 6-3

By virtue of their win, Safarova and Mattek-Sands will reclaim their spot at the top of the Road to Singapore for doubles.
