A late one tonight as it was the last club night of the summer! It was the best i’ve played in weeks and the first time that I felt comfortable with my new racquet. I was really trying to put a bit more pace on my serve, which has been dreadful of late. It was…
Wednesday was a successful day for Ashleigh Barty as she advanced to the quarter-finals of the singles and doubles tournaments in Wuhan. Firstly, Barty opened proceedings on Centre Court, beating the number nine seed, Agnieszka Radwanska, 4-6 6-0 6-4. Barty lost the first set from 3-1 and break points up, rather drowning in a sea…
Tuesday was a busy day in Wuhan with 15 second round matches on the schedule. The first match of the day on Centre Court featured Agnieszka Radwanska and Julia Goerges – this was my 5:30am wake-up call! Goerges had prevailed in their most recent match in Cincy, yet it was Radwanska turned the tables for…

Karolina Pliskova opened up proceedings on Arthur Ashe stadium on Monday morning. After two really tough matches including a saved match point in her third round win over Zhang Shuai, Pliskova eased through her fourth round match against Jennifer Brady, 6-1 6-0 in just 46 minutes. It was so quick that I didn’t even get…
