Update 03/07 – Worst predictions ever 😂

As per usual, i’ve spent hours deliberating over my draw. I’m still unsatisfied but i’ve decided to move on with my life. It’s Wimbledon, the big one, so I always overthink it! So basically my winner comes from the Jabeur-Kerber 4th rounder. Even with a disappointing display in Bad Homburg, i’ve just had a feeling about Angie since Roland Garros that she’s going to go on one last magical run at Wimbledon. She was so good last year and it took a peak Barty to stop her at Wimbledon.
I’ve swayed majorly because I feel Jabeur is primed for a great tournament. If they were on opposite sides, this would have been my final. Jabeur spoke in press on Saturday about how it clearly wasn’t her time at the French Open and perhaps it’s because something good is going to happen at Wimbledon. I really bought into it and believed what she was saying. I always try to go with original instinct now so i’m sticking with Angie as my champ.
I’m fascinated to see how Swiatek gets on at Wimby. If she goes onto win it then fair play. That’s amazing. She’s already amazing. I think the lack of competitive matches on grass, a surface that she is still learning on, and the sheer number of matches she has played this year will eventually catch up to her. I’ve got Swiatek out to Andreescu. Hmm yeah not sure about that! I’d predicted Andreescu to go deeep at the French so i’m continuing to go big on Bianca. I also like Gauff on grass, playing well but not peak yet, clearly confident right now so I have Gauff reaching another final.
Kvitova has thrown a late spanner in the works! Peak Petra appeared in Eastbourne. Wimbledon has been a tough place for her in recent years. I’ve felt she almost wanted it too much. Does this win suddenly put pressure and expectation on her now that she’s found some form? I just don’t know. I’d love Petra to have a run. To win the whole caboodle. Kvitova-Jabeur is probably my dream final. I guess too many doubts for me in the end so I held back with Petra reaching the quarters.
Bottom quarter. Bencic and Haddad Maia is the big one. I’ve always fancied Bencic for a big run and even though I have my doubts with her fitness after the Berlin final, i’ve gone for it this year. Ostapenko has a dreamy draw and i’d actually be surprised if she didn’t make at least the quarters.
