Of all three finals on Sunday, I never expected that the Valencia final between Andy Murray and Tommy Robredo would produce the best final. And this wasn’t just the best final of the day, it was one of the best finals of the entire year. Andy Murray saved five match points to defeat Tommy Robredo in an absolute thriller, 3-6 7-6(7) 7-6(8) lasting three hours and 20 minutes. The pair had played in the final of Shenzhen last month where Tommy had ALSO failed to convert on five match points. It was a high quality match with some stunning points at the end of the second and third sets. Both players gave it their absolute all. Gutted for Tommy.
And to top it all, this was the BEST EVER NET EXCHANGE AFTER A MATCH.
