Andrea Petkovic trying to get Sascha Zverev to dance ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Reliving their changeover chat from last year in Linz, here’s another hilarious moment between Madison Brengle and Nicole Melichar during Brengle’s match against Serena Williams in Auckland.

Belinda!ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

“I feel cold”ย ๐Ÿ˜“

Sadly this summed up the tournament in Hobart this year with a plethora of withdrawals. This was the first point of the doubles final!

Girllll, I don’t know.

Naomi Osaka discussing Ana Konjuh’s eyebrows…

I loved the Twitter Blue Room with Nick McCarvel at the Australian Open. Petko is a hoot.

My favourite Twitter Blue Room was with Barbora Strycova – I loved her story of winning a microwave on Czech TV!

A very emotional interview with Mirjana Lucic-Baroni but plenty of laughs too. My favourite on-court interview of the year.

When tennis players aren’t expecting fireworks or streamers!

Another entertaining WTA feature from Indian Wells. Angie, Garbi and Sveta are juggling pros!

Sloane Stephens going undercover at Indian Wells for Tennis Channel.

Elena Vesnina’s reaction to the trophy being takenย ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Charleston always has some of the best features with the players.

Andrea Petkovic and Jelena Jankovic uncensored for a third year! I’m still howling at Petkovic’s story about dealing with a loss in Miami and being greeted by Jankovic in the locker roomย ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ.

Mirjana’s reaction!ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sloane Stephens and Daria Kasatkina were a great double act on Tennis Channel.

Dasha’s sense of humour!ย ๐Ÿคฃ

Sveta!ย โšฝ

Timea Bacsinszky’s shock at how busy her press conference wasย ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Another funny on-court interview with Barbora Strycova.

One of my own personal highlights – Timea Bacsinszky and Svetlana Kuznetsova contending with those pesky seagulls in Eastbourne. For a full recap of Bacsinszky and Kuznetsova in doubles action which was SO MUCH FUN, click HERE.

After two rain affected days, Thursday’s schedule in Eastbourne was hysterical.

One of the viral moments from this year’s Wimbledon.

Tracy’s reaction to hitting the cameraman!ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

Madison Keys playing tennis in a dinosaur costume.

A pair of fun features from Toronto – Jo Konta’s impression of Ana Ivanovic was impressive!

Simona Halep’s private plane story heading to Cincy was a classic!

BARBORA STRYCOVA.

Great work from the social media team at the Connecticut Open in New Haven.

Sloane Stephens dealing with a fly in one of her press conferences. Her dragon line still makes me laugh!ย ๐Ÿ˜‚

One of my favourite screenshots of the year.

Taylor Townsend taking a tumble – I like that she saw the funny side of it!

The US Open trophy ceremony was great.

Daria Gavrilova and Daria Kasatkina, aka Dasha squaredย ๐Ÿ’“

I loved following Dasha squared on Instagram Stories in their attempts to get a toy minion in Tokyoย ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Minion is not that impressed that he has new parents… also look at the wave from him.. ๐Ÿ˜‚ @kasatkina

A post shared by Daria Gavrilova (@daria_gav) on

One of my favourite GIFs of the year – thanks, Ashish!

And finally, a lighter moment from the Hong Kong final that was delayed for hours and hours due to rain.

  1. A fine trio of posts, especially this one.

Random thought: Bouchard now strikes me as the Baghdatis of the women’s game. She’s reached one slam final, showing great promise, but hasn’t been anywhere near reaching another for a long time. Somewhat disappointing. I wish her luck.

    • Thanks, David. An interesting comparison there. I can’t quite work out Bouchard. Her performance vs. Sharapova was world class but she didn’t come close to replicating that form at all during the rest of the season.

      • Well her game style has always been problematic. Early on she was considered the next gen Wozniacki and really forced an aggressive style of play which doesn’t come naturally to her and is so high risk… at this point she should probably focus on using her incredible movement and play more defensively, stepping into the court when it’s right and not unnecessarily.

      • What I recall about Genie this year (apart from that date with a fan!) was a match against Aga Radwanska on the Asian swing – I can’t remember which tournament – where Aga was cruising to a comfortable victory over a clearly lacklustre opponent until it got to match point against Genie, at which point she suddenly came to life and Aga had a real battle on her hands. She won, but only after a struggle.

I found myself thinking “Why couldn’t she have done this before”? Aga even paid credit to her during the on-court interview after the match.

  2. Another funny moment – Daria Gavrilova up against Kris Pliskova and winning handily (again I forget the rournament) when a cat escaped onto the court and distracts Daria who’s serving for the match and gets broken as a result. I wonder how many cans of Whiskas that cost Kris?

  3. Everyone in the arena saw the house cat sneaking up behind Dasha,- except Dasha. When she turned around and saw the creature, for a split second, she probably thought it was a full grown Africa Lion ready to pounce. It appeared to take several games to get her nerves back under control.(Moscow)

  4. I don’t know what to make of this video, but everyone in it seemed to have a good time (including Timea). Watch her hit the ball with a frying pan;
