Hello again from Eastbourne! It’s so good to be here and to have a five day weekend from work haha. I’m chuffed to say that I have media accreditation for the Aegon International this year with Moo’s Tennis Blog. This means i’m getting through more pictures (and during the day!) as I have access to the media centre. This is my first ever time as media and i’m still totally clueless as to how things work. Eastbourne has wonderful access to the players and you can always get close to the practice courts without having to jostle through heavy crowds. Enjoy Saturday’s practice photos, which is a must for Lucie S. and Dasha K. fans…
Saturday began a little slow on the practice courts as play was suspended until 12.30pm due to the rain from yesterday. However, once they were given the go ahead, you were spoilt for choice and players were sharing courts. I was most excited to see Daria Kasatkina for the first time and spent a while getting some shots as she practised with Sam Stosur. It’s tough to gauge her grass court form but i’ll make sure to check out her match with Jelena Ostapenko on Sunday. Anyway, delighted to get some shots. They are not great as I was aiming through some black netting haha!
Also on the practice courts were Roberta Vinci, Alizé Cornet, Carina Witthoeft, Cagla Buyukakcay, Johanna Konta and Ana Konjuh just to name a few!
It was a good day of watching practices as I got to see Lucie Safarova in action! It was actually the same court where I got a picture with her last year. She was playing with Kristina Mladenovic and it was a super fun practice. Lucie was with Petr Pala, the Czech Fed Cup captain. Unfortunately it sounds like Rob is ill at the moment which sucks. I really miss them as a pair but Lucie seemed to have a good relationship with Petr and was hitting the ball well.
Lucie and Kiki were playing a practice set I believe, although i’m not sure who win! At one point Lucie hit a great serve and Kiki shouted out “Lucieeeeeee”! There were plenty of smiles and laughter.
And this is my favourite shot of the day! 🙂
At the end of the day, Varvara Lepchenko and Denisa Allertova, who both advanced via retirement wins in the first set, had a knock-up on the practice courts.
Svetlana Kuznetsova and Sara Errani were also practising together and you could hear Sveta from a mile off!
And finally, the number one seed, Agnieszka Radwanska made an appearance!
Must be great to see all these players so close up including your favourite. Pity that the weather forecast on Monday is looking miserable but Tuesday is more promising.

Thanks, Peter! I’m on the look-out for Bencic, didn’t see her today. Going to enjoy Sunday to the max, great weather and line-up!
