I don’t have a great deal to say other than YAY! Lucie Safarova and Bethanie Mattek-Sands beat Yung-Jan Chan and Jie Zheng, 6-4 7-6(5) in the final of the women’s doubles. Lucie and Beth both saved break points in their last two service games before breaking to seal the opening set, 6-4. The second set was tense with Chan and Zheng twice failing to serve out the second set. The full match report on the Australian Open website can be found HERE. This is Lucie’s first ever Grand Slam title!!! Congrats to Lucie and Beth 🙂
